Pat Hicks wants to share the good things being penned by people like you! If you have a short story to share, Pat will review it and as soon as it is proof read, and approved it will be posted here with your contact information.
To kick this off, this month’s topic is cheating death. Please tell us the story of how you – or someone you know – have found something deep within spiritually, by surviving a near death experience. By sharing your story, you may inspire others to share their own experiences through the story telling process.
What kinds of stories are we interested in? Any account of meaningful experience that could move others to better themselves.
Here is an example:
Teaching a younger family member a life skill is usually a great experience, both rewarding and celebratory. My experience happened at age 14 while teaching my 10 year old cousin to swim, things went terribly wrong, and in the final moments I could see the surface of the crystal blue water but could not get to it, it was then that I felt an almost divine guidance that saved both myself and my young cousin. After this type of experience many people retreat into fear. But fearing death is no way to live life, I went on to win competitions with my varsity swim team. I didn’t retreat and neither has my cousin, Virginia.
